Kincaid Furniture Company refers to itself as “An American Dream Come True,” and this is no exaggeration. J. Wade Kincaid began assembling dresser drawers at the age of 14 for a small furniture company in North Carolina. Deciding he wanted to work for himself, he slowly saved money over time and eventually purchased his own grocery store. But it didn’t take long for him to realize that furniture creation was his true calling, and in 1946 he purchased a small furniture company using $10,000 from his savings and from pooled funds from his family. From these humble beginnings, the Kincaid Furniture Company was brought to life.
Abode was designed as a natural evolution. For several years, casual furniture styles have sought to manufacture authenticity through finishes and treatments that disguise inferior materials to look as though they were naturally aged. Abode is different. It finds authenticity authentically with carefully selected and crafted solid Alder. This approach is as simple and beautiful as the furniture it produces.
