Hamilton Louden Bruce decided to try his hand at furniture manufacturing in October 1943. Leasing a small building for fifteen dollars a month, he hired two helpers and started to manufacture canvas covered lawn chairs, producing only about 24 chairs a day. Mr. Bruce named the company Hammary, after himself, Hamilton (Ham) and his wife Mary (mary). In 1947, Mr. Bruce dropped the lawn chair line and began to manufacture a group of occasional tables, able to sell $200,000 in orders before even the first sample tables were made at the plant!

The West End Bunching Bookcase has one puck light, one wood frame adjustable shelf with glass insert on top section, and one adjustable wood shelf on top section. Behind the two doors on the bottom section is one adjustable shelf.
West End was inspired by clean,vparson style designs. Incorporating classic elements in metal with accents of bluestone, the simple transitional style is an updated interpretation of familiar motifs. The West End Collection features two distinctive coffee table offerings and a variety of configurable home office pieces that can be used independently or as a unit to suit individual storage and workspace needs.
