Hamilton Louden Bruce decided to try his hand at furniture manufacturing in October 1943. Leasing a small building for fifteen dollars a month, he hired two helpers and started to manufacture canvas covered lawn chairs, producing only about 24 chairs a day. Mr. Bruce named the company Hammary, after himself, Hamilton (Ham) and his wife Mary (mary). In 1947, Mr. Bruce dropped the lawn chair line and began to manufacture a group of occasional tables, able to sell $200,000 in orders before even the first sample tables were made at the plant!
Synthesis is graceful, transitional styling that combines metal fretwork and flat cut oak veneer and hardwoods are seasoned wood to create a very unique, sophisticated look. Collection is comprised of cocktail tables with casters for easy movement and a complimentary balance of metal fretwork with aged wood complete with shelf for storage. Finished as if it were an aged oak barrel coupled with metal fretwork in a textured and smoky gray finish.
