Baker Jacques Garcia Pompadour Ottoman BA3816
While an x-form bench probably appeared in the Versailles apartment of Madame Pompadour, this contemporized design adds the slickness of lacquer and a high crown cushion. The rod stretcher terminates in shield-like boss mounts backed by a diamond shaped capital. In lieu of traditional paw feet, Garcia chooses to repeat the diamond motif. In White Gold, the look suggests something more indelibly Parisian than Hollywood Regency. This is that rare statement Ottoman, more decorative than a true seat. It can be paired at the foot of a bed - to hold bedding or books. A great choice as a glamorous but nonchalant book table. Tactile and sensual, the Pompadour cushions the user against a day without glamour.
